An adventure is a fun filled and exciting opportunity for our families to take their focus away from the daily hardships that are a result of having a child with a life threatening illness. We start out with a destination or event, and then our loving volunteers enhance it with creative ideas for family fun and friendship. Then, we add prizes and treats for good measure and end up with a wonderful experience filled with joy, laughter and sweet memories that a family can treasure. When you think like a child, you will make a child smile!

Parent’s Night Out
To help lighten the burdens of the parents and caregivers of our children, we offer them a “Parent's Night Out.” A Kid Again gives couples a cost-free evening by giving them gift certificates to a local restaurant and two cinema tickets once a year. It is an enjoyable time away from the stress created by dealing with a life threatening illness. Through this great program, we hope to provide a more positive atmosphere for the children to fight their illnesses. Currently, all four chapters offer this wonderful program.
Hospital Visitation
Because we realize that hospital stays can be lengthy, lonely and boring, especially for an energetic child, our volunteers visit children every week, year round in the Hematology/Oncology floors at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Volunteers bring a wagon filled with small gifts for the children to choose from, such as a craft to make, a movie to watch or a plush toy to comfort them through their stay. Currently, Columbus is the only chapter that provides this program at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Please visit our GET INVOLVED page if you would like to volunteer for or develop this program in your community.
